Jeremy hated everything about October. He hated the absence of the sun, the lack of life, the fog and the lingering aura of decay, decay, decay, He knew USC was still far more sunny and alive than most other parts of the country, but every dead leaf on the ground was another reminder that everything ends.
Jean, on the other hand, was apathetic. In one regard, it was easy to take it as a way to forget his childhood—no more brightness, no more pain. On the other hand, the Southern California fall was not something which managed to pull it off quite the same was the East Coast cold did. Every moment of sunshine was another moment spent with his past humming in his ear.
